Refund & Billing Policy

Last updated September 2026

This page explains how samsaam charges for paid plans, what happens when you change or cancel one, and how to raise a billing problem. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions.

How billing works

  • Paid plans are subscriptions, charged in advance for the period ahead — monthly or yearly, whichever you choose.
  • Payment is taken by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
  • Prices are shown before you buy and may be displayed in your local currency. Applicable taxes are handled at checkout.
  • A yearly plan is billed once for the whole year at the price shown.

Automatic renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price current at that time, until you cancel. You will be charged on your renewal date unless you have cancelled before it.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not end your current period. Your paid features stay available until the period you have already paid for runs out, and your account then returns to the free plan.

Your projects and files are not deleted when a subscription ends. You keep access to your account, and features that require a paid plan stop working until you subscribe again. If your stored content is over the free plan's storage allowance, you will not be able to upload more until you remove some.

Upgrading and downgrading

  • Upgrades take effect once payment is processed, and the higher limits apply immediately.
  • Downgrades take effect at the end of your current period, so you keep what you have paid for until then.
  • If you move to a plan with fewer team seats, people already in your workspace are not removed automatically. You choose who to suspend or remove.

Usage and limits

Plan limits — video length, export quality, storage and team seats — apply from the moment your plan changes. Storage is shared across a team workspace rather than granted per member. Limits are enforced when you upload, process or export, and reaching one does not affect work you have already done.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, our payment provider may retry it. We may suspend paid features while a payment is outstanding. Your content stays in your account during this time.

Refunds

Subscription payments are final and are not refunded once taken. This applies to new subscriptions, renewals and upgrades, and it applies whether or not the plan was used during the period paid for.

We do not refund for:

  • Changing your mind, or deciding the service is not for you.
  • Using only part of a billing period, or not using it at all.
  • Cancelling after a renewal has already been charged.
  • Choosing the wrong plan or the wrong billing period by mistake. Please check the plan and the amount on the payment screen before confirming — both are shown before anything is charged.

The free plan exists so you can try the product properly before paying for it. It includes three videos and the full editor, and lets you try every caption template, so nothing about how samsaam works has to be discovered after a payment.

When we do put things right

This policy is about buyer's remorse, not about our mistakes:

  • A duplicate charge, or a charge you did not authorise.
  • Being billed after cancelling, or billed the wrong amount for the plan you chose.
  • A fault on our side that stopped you using what you had paid for.

Tell us through the Help page and we will investigate and correct it.

Nothing on this page affects rights you have under the consumer law where you live, or the terms of the payment provider that processes your payment.

Billing problems

For anything about a charge, a renewal, a subscription you cannot find, or access you have paid for and are not getting, contact us through the Help page and choose Billing, or email contact@samsaam.io. Include the date and amount of the charge so we can find it quickly. See our Support page for how we handle requests.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
