Terms of Service

Last updated August 2026

By using CaptionStudio you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to the videos you upload and to the captions and exports produced from them. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service — to store your files, process your audio, and render your exports.

What you must not upload

  • Content you do not have the rights to use.
  • Content that is unlawful, or that depicts the abuse or sexualisation of children.
  • Content intended to harass, defraud or impersonate someone.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach this, without notice where the breach is serious.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. One person or organisation per account.

Credits and limits

Transcription, translation, audio enhancement and rendering each consume credits. Credits are consumed when an operation is accepted and are returned automatically if it ultimately fails. Rate limits and monthly caps apply so that one account cannot exhaust shared capacity.

What we do not promise

Transcription is produced by machine learning and will sometimes be wrong, particularly with heavy accents, overlapping speakers, background noise, or mixed languages. You are responsible for checking captions before publishing them.

The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it.

Ending it

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access where these terms are breached, or where we are required to by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
